Andover Men's Shed began in 2015 and is based at Enham Alamein.

We aim to provide a venue for members to connect while participating in group and individual projects.

We hope to provide opportunities for friendship and socialising in a safe environment.  The Shed provides space, expertise and facilities for members to pursue hobbies, crafts and many creative activities.

Projects which benefit individuals, other groups and the broader community are enthusiastically embraced by the Shed.

The Shed is usually open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays  10.00am - 1.00pm.

As 2021 seasom draws to a close, here is a quick update on what has been happening in the Shed and what is coming in the next few months.

The pandemic meant our Shed was unable to open until halfway through the year, and then only with sensible amounts of social distancing, sanitising and masks etc. Now that we have all had our 2nd (and 3rd jabs) we are beginning to feel there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Our “functions and events” this year have been limited, but here is a run down of where we have been:-

June 21. Climate change, Day of Action - Andover Town Centre - T.V.B.C.
August 21. Children in Need - Carfest South Laverstoke Park
August 21. Anton Round Table - Duck and Boat Race - Town Mills Park (video)
September 21. Enham Alamein Summer fete - 100 years celebration of Enham Trust

Our Children's Crazy Golf, Stocks and Famous Waterwall have proved popular at the events and we are hoping to add more amusements and games this winter!

For the community, we have carried out furniture refurbishments and repairs, made bird feeding tables, hedgehog hibernation boxes, some A Frame ladder racks, a pair of bookshelves for a town charity shop, a Wishing Well for a local group and helped someone in trouble when a wheel fell off a cart!

Additionally we have refurbished four or five garden benches with local oak, made some cable drum garden clocks, recycled some spare timber from another local group and helped in the production of the Enham Alamein centenary village green planter.

We have gained some new members bringing new ideas to our shed.

Our trailer is currently beinging updated with new tyres, a rewire for the lights, a new paint
job and a bespoke trailer cover. Thanks are due to our local Councillor for their help.

Hot News - Charity status

Great news to start the New Year - the Charity Commission has accepted Andover Mens Shed Association as a Charity.

Our thanks for his hard work achieving this milestone go to Brian Cooke.

New Home for the Shed

The Shed has been based at Enham Alamein since its formation but we have now outgrown the site and are looking for a new venue.

We are hoping to find/build a new faciity, which will include fresh water, be a ‘green’ building with a ground heat pump to help with hot water and heating, solar panels,  extra thick insulation and a rainwater catchment system to enable us to flush toilets etc!

If you can help please contact our Chairman Roger Evans via Contact Us.
